California to Oshkosh and Back

Oshkosh! It is said that all pilots should visit EAA AirVenture at Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) in Oshkosh, Wis. at least once in their lives.

For me, the idea of flying my own airplane almost 2,000 miles each way seemed bold and a bit daunting at first. Where do I begin?

Being a family man, I needed to consult with my wonderful wife, who gave me her blessing. She got a trip to the Caribbean out of this deal, but that’s another story.

Next, I needed to take the time off from work. Being self-employed made that task easier.

As for the transportation, two years earlier I fulfilled a dream and bought my own airplane.
