Working on the landing gear now. Wheels came off, and after 6 years sitting in the grass (which turned into mud so many times) it wasn't a surprise to find all 3 wheels, bearings and other parts rusted. I am looking at recovering as many parts as possible, but will probably need to replace some.

Another day, another part that comes off. Today both tanks on the LH wing came off. The outboard tank had a significant amount of rust generated by the filling cap & assembly. The inboard tank was clean (just dirt). Wingtip also came off.

2 more tanks to go. And all hoses will be replaced ... they were super dry.

Right wing tanks also came off. Not as bad as the ones on the left wing!

Flaps and ailerons also came off. All ball bearings are goners ... totally rusted. But on the upside the gap seals were perfect (not sure when they were installed though).

ELT ready to install ... but it will probably take a few weeks to mount it. I got this one on Aircraft Spruce, and they already programmed it with our country code and registration.

BTW, I am looking for a NAV/COM with GS receiver, and GS/LOC indicator. Please let me know if you have one for sale.

Hey Diego;
OK, now that you've explained what I'm seeing I better understand the image. I didn't realize it was an aileron bellcrank shaft. What I thought was deformation was the structure needed to support the shaft vertically.
No need to worry.

Thanks Steve.
This week we got the main landing gear out. It will have all bolts, nuts and springs replaced.
Also the horizontal stabilator came off. Will need to replace rusted bolts there too.
And during today/tomorrow the trim assy will also come off. All new nuts and bolts there too.
Next week I am going back to the US and will pick up that missing plastic panel for the forward baggage compartment along with the red nav light/strobe (Texas AeroSalvage) and an AirGizmo panel mount for the Garmin G696. I will move the NAV/COM + x-ponder under the Stormscope.
Best,

Diego
