Topic-icon Turbo Arrow IV Fuel Leak and Primer Critical Service Bulletin

2 weeks 5 days ago #2459

Hi Robert;
Thanks for the heads up on this issue. You sure do make my job easy when you include pictures and the applicable service information from Continental.
It seems to me that installing an electrically controlled valve forward of the firewall in the fuel system is making the system ripe for Murphy.
Apparently Continental also now thinks so too.
Looks like an easy fix.
Thanks and Happy Flying

Found a serious fuel leak during a ground run up after our panel upgrade. It was the diverter valve. The hoses are pressurized metered fuel in and out.

The schematic is a clip from the Critical Safety Bulletin Continental issued. I found the parts needed to remove it, ordered them, and they will be here Tuesday. Continental covers the parts and 2 hours labor. I had heard about removing the primer assembly but didn't think much of it until this happened. See photo. The leak drops straight onto the cylinder fins.

So, for future reference here's CSB 19-01a: www.tcmlink.com/pdf2/CSB19-01A.pdf
