Hartzell Propeller has appointed Arrow Aviation Pvt. Ltd. as a Service and Support Center in India. Arrow Aviation’s propeller overhauling workshop and its head office are located in Kolkata.
 
It also has locations in Delhi, Mumbai and the UAE. Arrow Aviation provides product support services for airframes, tooling, avionics and instruments, brakes and wheels, consumables and lubricants, ground support equipment, landing gears, rotables, tires, and windows.

Increased Demand for Polymer Fuel Cap Washers Leads to Partnership Between Marsh Brothers Aviation and Gallagher Aviation

Canada’s Marsh Brothers Aviation, the leading supplier of advanced polymer materials to the general aviation sector, has appointed Gallagher Aviation to distribute the company’s pioneering self-lubricating polymer fuel cap washers to pilots, manufacturers, and maintainers in the United States.

Cincinnati-based Gallagher Aviation will initially focus on Marsh Brothers’ ground-breaking AeroTough® range of fuel cap washers but the agreement could be extended to include other product lines.

There could be an opportunity to expand the business relationship to include our landing gear door hinge kits and brake master cylinders kits.”

Commenting on the performance of Marsh Brothers AeroTough fuel cap washers, in particular, Gallagher said: “Typically, most fuel caps have a metal washer under the locking tab. This creates metal-to-metal contact and under load the cam lobes can experience rapid wear. Pilots and service personnel have broken fingernails, used screwdrivers and other means trying to open them, especially in cold climates where the caps can seize. You just don’t have these problems with Marsh Brothers AeroTough fuel cap washers.”

Much tougher than Nylon or PTFE, AeroTough is an engineered homogeneous polymer developed exclusively for aircraft and aerospace applications. The material does not require lubrication, can withstand a range of extreme temperatures and operating pressures, and can be used in applications that require minimal clearances.

In addition to fuel cap washers, typical applications include landing gear pneumatic struts and structures, hydraulic actuators, flight control hinges, and passenger and cargo door hinge bushings and rollers.

While Gallagher Aviation will distribute the fuel cap washers to its US customer base, the company will also utilize the Marsh Brothers polymer materials in fuel cap refurbishment projects.

The AeroTough range of TCCA/FAA/EASA approved fuel cap washers are certified for use on the Piper Navajo, Piper Chieftain, Piper Aerostar, Mooney M20, Beechcraft Bonanza, Beechcraft Baron, Textron King Air, and Textron 1900 series of aircraft.

In January, Marsh Brothers Aviation received Transport Canada approval to supply the washers to the Cessna Twin Piston 300 Series and 400 Series aircraft. AeroTough fuel cap washers also available for Gabb and Parker Aerospace 39051 fuel caps.

A dedicated flight system on your wrist

The D2 Air X10 includes preflight, in-flight and postflight features and tools to assist pilots in navigation and enhance situational awareness. Direct-to navigation lets pilots navigate straight to an airport or waypoint in the preloaded worldwide database directly from the watch, or choose the Nearest function to activate a direct course to a nearby airport. The instrument-like horizontal situation indicator (HSI) course needle makes it easy for pilots to see if the aircraft is left or right of the desired flight path, and the barometric altimeter can alert them when they’ve reached their desired altitude. Aviation alerts like time, distance, altitude and a fuel timer are also available on the D2 Air X10 during flight.

Flight logging is a breeze with the D2 Air X10, which automatically starts tracking flights on takeoff, then automatically transfers the date, duration, total flight time and route to the user’s flyGarmin.com logbook.2 Pilots can also seamlessly transfer3 flight plans from the Garmin Pilot app to the D2 Air X10, and view the list of waypoints included in their route.

Know what’s ahead with airport information like runway orientation and wind components3, runway lengths, airport frequencies, and traffic pattern altitude—all preloaded and easily accessible from the watch. The D2 Air X10 also offers aviation weather reports, including METARs and TAFs that allow pilots to see winds, visibility and barometric pressure and more4 before takeoff. And stay on schedule with a UTC hand on the watch face, which can also display and help pilots manage multiple time zones, including Zulu time.

All-day health monitoring & customized fitness

With the broadest range of 24/7 health monitoring features available from Garmin, the D2 Air X10 offers: wrist-based heart rate (with user-configurable alerts for high or low readings5), advanced sleep monitoring with sleep score, breathwork activities, fitness age, respiration, Pulse Ox, all-day stress tracking, hydration, and women’s health tracking. Body Battery energy monitoring shows users how “charged” their body is as well as the draining effects of stress and exercise. Keep fitness feeling fresh with preloaded workouts on the watch, preset workouts available for download from the Garmin Connect app, or create customizable workouts by choosing from over 1,400 exercises.
